I know there have been several variations on this theme in the past, but here goes anyway. Over the last few weeks, I've noticed an odd thing. When I insert my USB stick, pen drive, flash stick, call-it-whatever-you-want, the computer goes through it's found new disk drive stuff (as usual) but then asks if I want to restart (not as usual) and in some cases the Found New Hardware Wizard runs. It happens on computers of different brands, with different motherboards etc.
Has anyone found a solution? It's driving me up the wall!

The only thing I can think of is what do you have installed on your USB stick.. do you have a boot program on it?

That crossed my mind with the first one I saw, but when I tried my own stick, which I knew had nothing like that on it, I got the same problem. I finally went in as administrator and installed someone's USB stick. The problem promptly vanished. After I install one USB stick can use any.
