At certain points using certain programs such as IE8 or Eudora, the mouse cursor will nearly disappear. I've got the cursor pointer set as a pen, and on certain parts of the IE8 page, that pen will change into a very faint vertical line, difficult to see.

In Eudora it's very visible. But when I click on the reply, again that pen pointer changes to a very faint vertical line.

I've unchecked "hide pointer while typing" in the Mouse properties, but that does nothing.

I'm using a Logitech MX Revolution Mouse but am not using the Setpoint software. I've also Wizmouse installed here, so I can scroll my My Favourites when normally I could not without the Wizmouse program.

My question is ... Any idea as to how to make the Mouse pointer visible at all times.

I suspect it is 'by design' - on this page in IE8 with the mouse over the text portion of the message I see the typing cursor - over the spaces between lines the normal arrowhead.

You can always change the text cursor in Mouse Properties - pointers.

PeteC, thanks for the reply. I suspect you are correct. Before I even change the pointer, why I am thinking the same results are to follow. I'll let you know as soon as I get to it. I've got to get out of town for a few minutes but when I get back, I'll try your advice.

Not sure if it'll help - but look in Control Panel->Mouse and make sure the "hide while typing" is disabled.

It works :) Tried it - select an alternative beam cursor for Text Select.

I tried an alternative pointer, but it made no difference. What you call an "alternative beam" ... is this what I would call an alternative pointer or have you got something else in mind when you mention that? By the way, "hide while typing" has been been disabled, but that does nothing to help either.

Yo, I've been through those PeteC. I think you are correct, that this mouse pointer going to a faint vertical at certain points on some programs must be by design.

If something else comes up other than this, let me know. Thanks for the input! Appreciated !!
