Windows Vista Win vista sp1

    I've been holding off installing VISTA SP1 due to all the horror stories I read.... any advice on acceptability of doing it now?? Tx

    As with any SP, the vast majority of people have had great success with it. And since you have a strong backup process in place (hint hint) - you should be good to go.

    You may want to skip it & go straight to SP2. Should be out any day now (if not already - haven't been keeping a close look). Although you'll hear many horror stories about SP2 too. That's going to happen with hundreds of millions of PCs running Vista.

    Not another one already Arie? :(:D I suggest going to the system (hardware) manufacturer's website and updating all the main drivers. Also check for updates for any programs that were an early release of a Vista version.
