clear download window

    I'm using Firefox 3.0.8, and my download window use to automatically clear the download list before the download window closed. Now it keeps a list of downloads and I have to click the "clear list" button now. Does anyone know what the string is in "about:config" so I can get it to clear before closing?

    To prevent Firefox from ever storing this information, uncheck "Remember what I've downloaded ".

    That setting is located here: Tools | Options | Privacy
    Scroll to: History
    Disable: Remember what I've downloaded

    To automatically clear the Downloads list on browser close:
    Tools | Options | Privacy
    Scroll down to: Private Data
    Click on: Settings
    Check: Download History
