Forgotten BIOS Password

    Ihave forgotten my password to get into the Bios, I have a Optiplex GX280 and I'm running windows XP home
    need to install a secind hard drive but its not recognized

    There should be a jumper on the mother board that you can remove, turn on your computer, after it boots shutdown the computer. Replace the jumper on the two pins and turn the computer back on and your BIOS password will be gone.

    As for the location of the jumper, not sure, but you should see writing indicating what the pins/jumper is for, something like PW for password. On a GX260 it says "PSWD" and is near where the power cable from the power supply connects to the motherborad.
