Finally sick of Vista

I have been dual booting XP Pro and Vista HP for a while now and Vista has got to the point of being unusable. How can I remove it and still keep my XP install?
Vista is on one hard drive and Vista is on a separate hard drive.

 

If I may say, that's not a job for a beginner. You'd be way ahead to take it to someone with the expertise. It shouldn't be too expensive.

There are so many variables such as the ARC drive designation number for each system and the current drive letter assignments. Then you will need the XP install CD and knowledge of how to evoke the Repair Console and run several command line commands. There are other methods that can be used if you have no XP install CD but they require 3rd party software, such as XXCLONE. It is important to do the operations in the proper sequence or you'll render the system unbootable for either OS.

Like I said, take it to an expert or call your local guru or friend who has the understanding necessary to avoid the many possible pitfalls.

If you insist on doing it yourself and are willing to accept the risks, post back with full system information, such as drive number designations as listed in XP Disk management and the other info I mentioned earlier.

 

Thanks for your response. It really wasn't that big of a deal. I just followed the instructions in this link, http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/1040/vista_how_to_uninstall_vista_dual_boot_machine/ and reformatted the drive that Vista was on. All is well so far. Now I will reinstall Vista on a new WD hard drive and see if I can get to the point I once was with Vista. I actually liked it. Thanks again
