    Hi Graham Weston
Are you sure it's not your address book that you want to be in? Open Outlook Express.....go to tools....then address book?

    Hi Daizy,

Many thanks for your reply. i am sure i want to remove addresses in explorer, not outlook. with explorer open, you have the address bar, with a 'down arrow' and 'go' at the end. hit the 'down arrow', and a list of addresses drop down. these are the addresses i wish to edit. more suggestions please.

GRAHAM WESTON--If you want to get rid of all of them, click Tools|Internet Options|click Clear History button on the General tab. ( I think you have this on IE5.)
If you want to edit just some you will have to go into the Registry.
Start|Run|type regedit, click OK. Now click the + signs as follows
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer. Scroll to Typed URLs, click on that folder in the left pane. All the addresses will show in the right pane. Right click on the little icon to the left of any you want to delete and click Delete, confirm. You may have to reboot for the deletions to take place.
Don't know how much you know about the Registry. It is always good to backup (File|Export) the parts of the Registry you plan to change, just in case you make a mistake and want to reverse.
(P.S.) On some PC's you may not find TypedURLs where I indicated, but rather under HKEY_USERS\DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer )

In the future, suggest you save the use of the word "mailing" for addresses in your email program.
