Anybody know why when I click on preferences Google's search page and change the filtering and # of responses per page and then click on save preferences and do a search it doesn't change anything. I go back and look and it;s changed back to what it was like it completely ignores me. I've tried logging in on Google first also but to know avail.
I feel really stupid but I got a feeling when someone replies I going to feel even "Stupider "
Can someone make me look dumber then I feel now please.
    Thanks.

Google store your preferences in a cookie. Thus you must allow google to set cookies.

Thanks Tom, but that doesn't seem to be the problem. I use FireFox 3.07 and when I go to options I have both Accept cookies from sites and Accept 3rd party cookies both checked in the options, but when I change my preferences and it tells me preferences saved, I do a search and it ignores my new preference. When I go back to the preferences page it's liked I never changed it.

For everyone's knowledge I just figured it out. I use an addon in FF which allows me to customize Google including the preferences. If I change it there it works just fine. The addon is CustomizeGoogle 0.76.
Thanks for listening everyone. I hope this will help someone else.
