    I have the following setup:

Intel Pentium Dual CPU; 1.80 GHz; 1GB RAM with Windows XP SP2. I have 2 hard drives and a Firewire card. When we configured this, we removed my TV tuner card.

Sometimes, I want to use this card, but there is no space to fit it internally.
I was thinking if there is a possibility to use the existing cable (last picture) and change it at the other end so that it will fit into the USB port.

Will it work then, or does everything need to be connected. If need be, I can open the PC and post another picture.

Or is there another way to do it?

No way, I'm afraid - that is a PCI card - see the label on the first pic- it must be installed in a PCI slot to function.

The cable looks like an audio cable to connect to a header on the motherboard.

Actually, I think that goes to a sound card input - looks similar to the old cables needed for old CD-ROM drives. But in any event, you cannot just cut the end off and attach a new connector and expect the correct voltages and data lines will show up on the correct pins.

You need to determine what slots are open on the motherboard. If you have a free PCI slot, you may be able to fit this in - but until we know what board is in there, and what you have in other PCI slots, I am afraid there is no more information we can provide.

You are probably right, but it looks a bit short to me - would never reach my CD-ROM drives, old or new :)

Yes, the problem is that I do not have open slots on my motherboard. So, I suppose the only option will be to buy an external USB TV card.

I amn ot going to use it frequently, so I might swop it for a short time with the IEEE card??

    You could certainly do that.

Most older motherboards have at least 3 PCI slots. And network adapters and sound cards have been integrated into motherboards for some time. You have your Firewire card. What other PCI cards are taking up slots. Perhaps one is not needed.
