How do I delete cookies in Netscape Communicator 5.8. I tried finding it in preferences but I'm not seeing it. Also I tried deleting cache folder thinking that would delete cookies as well but it doesn't. And one other question, was 4.8 the last version of Netscape Communicator released? I know 5.0 was never released because the source code was released to the public, and thus we have mozilla now. But was there ever a 4.81 for example or 4.9, and where can I get them if they exist? Also is 4.8 really that bad? I've seen reviews that the browser is old, doesn't display pages right, etc etc, ..let me know.

If you look in your netscape 4.x user profile directory, you will find cookies.txt, which can be opened in notepad. You have a choice of just deleting specific cookies in notepad or deleting the cookies.txt file. One trick some people use is to make an empty cookies.txt file "read only" or to make a folder with the name "cookies.txt "... both methods prevent netscape from saving any new cookies.

I believe the path to the N4.x user profile is by default:

    c:\program files\netscape\users\profilename

However, I may be mistaken since I haven't used N4.x in some time.

You are correct about N4.x being old an not displaying pages correctly. If you have the ability to use a more modern browser you should consider using one.
