    Hi,
    I have recently uninstalled Linux from my laptop because I could not get the network card to work...

    Linux left the GRUB bootloader in there and now I cannot start the system.

    It says Grub Error 22

    I have tried inserting the Windows CD and typing fixboot and fixmbr but it says command not found.

    I try the same with the Windows 2000 CD and it works but then says at bootup NTLDR is missing Press any key to restart.

    How can I "restore" the Windows Millennium Startup?

    I have looked all over for solutions all night, I did not find anything useful.

    I didn't really want to reformat the drive just because of this.

    Is there any other solution?

    If this was a Win98 machine, the quickest way to get it going would be to boot the computer with a Win98 floppy and do this command sys a: c: which would restore the basic system startup files that is needed for this situation.
    However, an attempt to do this same command with a WinME boot floppy may result with the message that you need to install Windows ME edition. I am afraid you may need to do an overlay install, or reinstallation of windows ME, this does not mean formatting the drive in this case.

    Thanks for your suggestion, I fixed this problem with the help of linuxforums.org the command I had to do was,

    PATH A:\;C:\Windows;C:\windows\command;

    SYS C:

    This worked :)
