XP Home, SP3. C:\Documents and Settings\Local Service\My Documents contains only 1 folder with 1 subfolder to it. These are My Roboform Data and Default Profile respectively. There are no files in either of these two folders. The date on these folders is 5/23/08 .. almost a year ago .. probably when I last installed Roboform, but I cannot be certain, I have had to install it several times. My Roboform Data is a repository for Roboform to store Login ID's and Passwords .. but not THIS Roboform Data because it is virtually empty.

    The actual active folder is:
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\My Roboform Data. So, the question is: What is the Local Service Folder's basic purpose? It and it's child folders are a LONG way from the actual working ones. Thank you for your attention.

Thank you for the prompt answer. The article was a bit over my head but certainly is a direct answer to my question. It suggests I better leave these folders alone .. although they don't even contain any files. Givin up more disk space ... again.

An empty folder is generally 0 bytes :)

    C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\My Documents\My RoboForm Data\Default Profile

not a single file in the entire tree. All folders. Disk space doing nothing. But here is the most important thing ... I am not trying to win an arguement or prove a point (may sound like it). I am trying to clean up after a fairly disastrous 'crash' involving a Linux install that went 'bad' and only trying to clean up a 'mess'. That is why my concern. I have 'stuff' like that all over the place and am trying to tidy up. Thank you for your help, comments, and patience. The subject is closed, and I look forward to learning more from people such as yourself as well as helping anyone I can.
