OK boys and girls, a weird one. I was working in Word 2007 today doing some documentation and adding screen shots and such. The documentation was on how to install a VPN client. It got to the point where the installation said to reboot the computer now (or later). I saved my word file and said Yes to reboot. When I went back in to Word to continue, I could not click anywhere in the document with the mouse. I could click and use the down arrow to move through the document, but the mouse would not even put the cursor anywhere. I opened other documents as well and had the same problem, not being able to edit with the mouse. :confused:I uninstalled and reinstalled MS Office Pro 3 times, and the same thing occurred. Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher, Access - none of them had the problem.......only Word. It was not the document, because I opened it on two other computers just fine and was able to edit with no problems. I'd really like to know - if Anyone has any ideas - why Word, all of a sudden, decided to '**** out.'

Thanks Pete. I guess I was just too frustrated to do a Google search :) A colleauge of mine also sent a solution site: http://en.allexperts.com/q/Microsoft-Word-1058/Word-2007-responding-mouse.htm.

The problem was resolved by deleting the registry key at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Data
then reopening and closing Word. Something so simple!!

    Anyway, thanks again.
