I've had this problem forever! I know its a problem because Its getting on my nerves and making me mad! I always know when I'm getting mad because I start pushing people around, pulling their hair, kicking, bitting them, I always end up choking some body! LOL

    Heres the deal!

Lets say I'm downloading music or just letting the computer sit with no activity on my part to keep it busy for lets say 15 or 20 minutes, Then out of no where my computer makes a cherp like someone bumped the needle on an old 45 record and then my mouse turns into an hour glass. It sits and spins forever. At that point I loose all control of the computer. I can bring the task master up and it says msgsrv32 not responding so I end that task but nothing happens! I have to unplug the computer from from the wall and start over to regain control! I have super antispyware free addition, I run it and it finds nothing! I posted a hijackthis log in the malware thread but its been about a week and I have heard nothing!

    Any thoughts?

Can you not end msgsvr32 and other non essential stuff before you lose control?

Probably not a good idea .....

Function of the Windows 32-Bit Message Server
I wonder if a shell extension is the source the problem - download ShellExView (works with Win98 up) and disable all shell extensions and see if the problem is resolved. If so re-enable one by one until the culprit is found. Start by disabling non Microsoft extensions - see options to mark those extensions for clarity.

Thank you very much! I did what you said and not only has the msgsrv32 not responding thing not happened since, but my computer is so much faster now! It's so fast that I get scared and have to wear a helmet every time I get on it! LOL

All I did was download the shellexview program and run it. Then it marked three things it thought looked out of place so I disabled them. Now its like I have a new computer!

I have some other issues I need to resolve with this computer but I'm very happy with what we have done here! Its nice to finally meet someone with a brain! The last guy I talked to on another forum told me to stand up, spin around three times, throw salt over my shoulder and yell ooga booga, ooga booga at the computer 10 times! LOL It didn't work! What a moron! LOL Thank you!
