    Hi everyone:

I'm trying to convert .vob files from a CD-ROM to .avi files so that I can edit them on Windows Movie Maker (version 6.0, Service Pack 1) and post them on youtube. I'm using HandBrake (version 0.9.3) to do the conversion. The new .avi file plays fine on Windows Media Player, but plays as an audio file (no video) on Windows Movie Maker. Any idea what the problem is? Operating system is Vista Home Premium.

more than likely a video codec issue. meaning the vid is unsupported by MS. xvid comes to mind as u need to install it specifically for your system to playback xvid.

anyway - the problem is more than likely in u'r handbrake conversion. look there for the video codec it's using and either get that codec or change it to one that is supported by MS
