I've a particular bookmark in IE7 that I cannot delete. It has nothing in it but I cannot delete it still.
I've shut down IE, rebooted the machine, and tried to delete it from Explorer, but still no go. When I try to do anything with this particular file, I get this message, "This is no longer located in the C:\users\favorites. Verify the items located and try again. "

Also, I get this when I tried to change it from a read only file, "The system cannot find the file specified. "

I'm using Vista Home Premium and Internet 7.

Can one (or even two) point out to me how to get rid of this file. Thanks!

Can you go to the bookmarked site - re-bookmark it and then delete it?

PeteC - thank you for the response. I couldn't delete it, rename it, shoot it etc. I found out about a program I never heard of before (although you folks would have) called "Unlocker" and that puppy did the trick.

I had even gone into Safe Mode and couldn't delete it from in there. It was a folder with nothing at all in it, and it didn't want to leave. But it has left and is not welcomed back at least for the day.

You would no doubt have something else up your sleeve that I could have done, but it's gone and we can call this one solved. Thanks again PeteC!

You're welcome, but you found the solution :) MoveonBoot is another applet similar to UnLocker.

I'd not heard of either of these programs. Actually I didn't find out by myself about this program, but a fellow by the name of Brink on another forum pointed me in the right direction regarding that.

If I had worded my original question a bit more correctly, you would have mentioned this program or the one called Moveonboot.

Appreciate your coming in on these questions sir. Thanks!
