I am looking for an alternative to Photoshop, prefarably free or low cost. There are several web bases programs available but I have not found one that compares to Photoshop.
There is one available from Gimp.org but it seems to be difficult to download and I'm not sure it's compatible with my Vista 64 bit OS.
Can anyone offer any infor on GIMP? Thanks

I use GIMP all the time, good solid app.
    I'm running 32 bit though.
But, it's supposed to be optimized for 64 bit and run well.

Although not free, Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 Ultimate is a feature-packed image editing app.

I think it currently retails at Best Buy (in the States) for around $99.99.

I found a x64 version at that site. It's experimental and works only on x64.
I downloaded and it seems to be working OK.
    Thanks for the suggestion.

    Well done!
I'm not sure, but the GIMP help manual may be a separate download. I don't believe it's "bit specific" either.
