What is the command for open a file?

    Firstly i open a cmd, then i type dir and pressed enter. del is a command lint to delete the file, and is there any open file command?

    It just depends and what you want to "open." And what you mean by open.

    You can open/EDIT Text files by typing: Edit filename.txt

    sorta depends on the file type. if it's a text file for instance, NOTEPAD filename.txt

    If i use the dir command and one of the file that listed name auto.exe. If i want to open it or open its location, what is the command should i use?

    What do you mean when you ask OPEN? Are you wanting to see the contents of the exe file or do you want to start/launch the application?

    If you want to start/launch the application type: auto and hit the enter key.

    yep i want to open it FOR see its content. But the auto command doesn't work.
    EDIT:I can open it with run by put in the name of the file, why i didn't think of that? And thanks for everyone
