How change text colors under desktop icons?

My old XP computer had white text under all the desktop icons. My new XP-Pro has black text under the icons.

I know how to change the background desktop color (eg Classic desktop) but how do you change the text color?

 

XP can't do that natively but there are some 3rd party programs that can handle that.

Try Iconoid.

In the meantime, I changed the background to a darker color and the text color miraculously changed from black to white.

It looks like the black/white option is dependent on the background color - which kind of makes sense.

 

Hi, On XP you can remove that box alltogether if your background is suitable for black or white letters. if it will help , let me know and I will find the instructions and enter them here, ps I am away in the van and dont have them at hand>
