    Hello All.

While using Windows XP Professional, I showed a coworker how to run error-checking (My Computer, right-click on C:, Properties, Tools, Error-Checking, Check Now, and I checked both boxes).

However, instead of letting it run the next time that I started up the computer, I cancelled it.

Except now, it runs error-checking every time that I boot up the computer.

I've tried running it again and letting it run its full course, but it still does it every time I boot.

I even used the Command Prompt (RUN) and ran fsutil, which said that chkdsk was NOT "dirty. "

    Please help. Thank you.

    Hello stuartr317help,

See if you find the fix in here:

Chkdsk.exe or Autochk.exe starts when you try to shut down or restart your computer
