    Hellow Guys, how are you!

I gota question today About Installing Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5

I have recently installed Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 on Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 which came with my W/xp Sp3.

My question simply is: Do I have to uninstall M.net FW 2.0 Before installing the latter 3.5? I feel my computer is running slower than before after i installed the 3.5.

Or its ok to have them both on my Pc.

    Pc spec:
    windows xp pro 2002 sp3 V.5657
    2.5 Ghz intel Core2duo
    4 Gb ram
    512 ATI Graphics
    640 HDD SATA

    Thanks guys

I have .net 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5 installed and so far no conflicts. Mind you I am not sure what .net is supposed to do or not do:eek: or whether or not you can or are supposed to uninstall the older versions.

I am guessing that if it was required by MS to uninstall the older versions the new installs would have overwritten them or unistalled them automatically.

Going to have to take the time one day to read up on .net.

.NET allows software authors to use 'libraries' that included in .NET to write software.

Some software may work with one version of .NET & not with another, so it would depend on the 3rd party software you have what versions of .NET you may need.

----previous info edited and cut away-----

    Hi all,

 Boy, am I embarrassed. I seem to have lost my way to a different post and had placed, or rather misplaced, a reply in here. I have now taken it out and will take my "blind and confused self" to the appropriate and intended member. Someone is having a problem updating to version 3.5.

I haven't gotten lost in a while so I guess I was due. Please forgive the intrusion.

Hi Adelaide84, I would suggest that if you don't have any software requiring .NET3.5 uninstall through Control Panel>Add & Remove and see how the comp works after that. As Arie has posted if it is required for some software to run, you will be informed if and when you need it. I had a problem recently when .NET3.5 was on Auto Update from MS, so I uninstalled .NET3.5 and all is working OK.Neil.:D
