    Hello everyone;

    My name is Frank. I think I am driven to distraction, since I am curious about almost everything. I can understand why I might be dubbed Jack of all trades and master of none. :). Nevertheless I have no regrets of the many zigags I have made through life. Its what makes me Frank.

    I was a Nurse when I got out the Army, having been a Medical Corpman there. I have about 14 years in that field and about 20 in Auto Mechanics.
    Even though very unrelated, I take pride I can tell when a car has a loose Rod, and when a heart has a loud murmur. I wish Automotive engineers put the fuel pump like mother nature did our heart, ie. in the same location.

    With all my skills, I thought I would never have a hard time finding a job. I didnt factor in that even with great skills, ones eyes, ears, are not as sharp as one gets older. My shock absorbers, ie the cushions between the disks in my back, lost some of their bounce. That means I cant jump of the back of a big truck like I used to. The good news I recently got a job. I am going down from 23/hr. as an Lvn to 9/hr as a security guard, but I think that will pay my bills.

    My biggest high in life is problem solving. I get this rush when I have been trying to solve a difficult problem and finally solve it. Some of my pet peeves are people putting their grocery cart with 50 items when the large sign says 15 items. I had someone sitting in their car chatting away, at the gas pump, while I waited and waited for a space for me to fill up. I felt compelled to ask them to explain their behavior but in California one can get shot for asking such questions.

    Ok..This introduction is looking like an autobiography.

    In about 95 I dove right into computers. I had bought a Brothers Word processor and was amazed how I could, even with my poor typing skills print a perfect document without doctoring up with white out. I was in awe of how after I hit print, those keys started moving without the jerky movements , my fingers would have commanded. I bought my first computer mainly to use as a word processor. One of my Nieces explained to me how a computer could be used to chat and meet people. After that even if the house was on fire you couldnt get me away from my computer. I thought I could never reach a healthy use of chat rooms..but i did within the last 2 years. I think.:). My first computer was an Acer. I forced into retirement after 10 years of great service. It still wanted to remain part of the workforce. :)

    With almost zero knowledge I started to build my first clone. My first problem was formatting the hard drive. Luckly a friend help me with that. I realized I was not going to go far If I didnt do some reading on how computers work. Since then, I must have built about 6 or more for myself and family members. I am staring at about 4 that I am hoping to get up and running. One is a Dell someone threw away. The hard drive was only .8 gig, so thats the first part I knew needed updating,2 other computers that I have fried a motherboard or processor or both.

    I forgot to tell you, I hate throwing things away. At any rate, I hope to practise on my own computers before I ever work on some else's computer. I might not live to see 64, if fry someone elses motherboard or accidently format C: drive like i did on my own one time.

    PS. One regret I do have, is not asking for letters of recommendation from every employer that praised me for my work. Now that I have faced one year of unemployment those letters would have come in handy. Also I am now just learning that to find a job, you have to read up on how to get a job. Until now, I didnt know it took training just to learn how to get a job..

    My apologies if there was a limit on length on the introduction.

    Oops one more important thing.. I never married, and I love animals, expecially mammals. I am not to fond of sharks or alligators or other predators
    . I recently converted to 98% vegetarian, I will eat meat if I am invited to dinner. I am not into religion now, but was raised a Seventh Day Adventist. That explains why I don't smoke and seldom drink. Just two of the positives habits I got from being a Seventh Day Adventist long time ago.

    THE END....Frank
