New Hard Drive, No sound Drivers?

I replaced the hard drive in my Gateway laptop m305crv and now I have no sound. I checked the mute button and my controls, I've gone to their site and read the manual, but still to no avail. I tried downloading the drivers, but they still wouldn't install.
I've read where other people have had this porblem in the past, so I know this is common. I don't have the original disk, because I'm not the original owner. Is there some kind sole, here, that would be good enough to help me solve this dilemma.

Pete, I've not yet tried these drivers from this link you're referring too, but I did update the motherboard chip drivers, by following their procedure. I'll give this a try and let you know if it works.

No new hardware with the exception of the hard drive

All that was replaced on this laptop was the hard drive, noting else. I've loaded the orignal drivers from the gateway site, but still to no ado. I've loaded the chipset drivers, they did load ok

 

In my device manager I have question marks beside multimedia, audio, and video I'm tried diabling and uninstalling , but they always come back the same way.

 

Pete, it trys to load this driver, but it drags as if something is keeping it from installing. Do you think I may have installed a driver that's causing a conflict?

 

Correction my audio driver in my gateway is a Sigma T G Major Audio. I did find the drivers, now they are installed correctly. I do thank you for all of your help. I've made a backup disk of all those drivers for my laptop.
