no wifi connection

Hello there, i have just been given a 2003 Aries laptop that seemed to be fine untill i tried its wifi abilities which it has but i am unble to connect to the internet. All drivers and systems are ok but not able to connect. i installed software to use a wifi dongle and thats fine ,but realy i want the laptops own system to work. pls tell me what info you require and i will source it to help solve this problem thanks HARVO>

 

Hi, are you sure that the computer is capable of handling WIFI internet, because with some computers that are labelled as WIFI, like laptops I have, they are actually only able to handle wireless network internet.

Yes sir ,it certainly does wifi ,i know this as today i managed to connect to the net,then the sp 3 upgrade happened and once again nothing i even restored back to befor the upgrade but alas still nothing. the only noticable difference is it was connection 3, (and worked) the upgrade changed it to connection 4 and now neither work lol.
