I tried to fax through the included Win 2K fax service today (through Word 2000 and Notepad). The print driver appeared to function (the blue progress "dots" at the lower left of the screen went across, and the printer icon appeared and then disappeared from the taskbar), but then....nothing. Not even an error message. The pending faxes just sat around in the fax queue, but never went anywhere.

I have a fax-modem (which worked months ago - the last time I used it), but for some reason, nothing today. The modem part of the fax-modem works just fine.

I then tried erasing the fax print driver, hoping that would be equivalent to an uninstall, at which point I was going to add it back again through the advanced properties tab of Fax Service Management. Now, however, despite rebooting the machine, I get a perpetual "deleting" next to "Fax" in the printers folder - it never goes away.

Anyone had an experience like this?

    Thanks!

Could be a permissions problem. Does it send when logged in with a Power User or Admin account? See also Q248427.

    admin access

Thanks, but no, that's not the answer. I use the admin account and have unfettered access - as far as I can tell, this is something that shouldn't be.
