I realize this may sound easy but I have not found an answer. I want to have an icon on my desktop that when I click it, it will open a Firefox bookmark using a keyword and initiate the opening of the appropriate Web page. I can type the keyword in the address bar and make it happen, but I want to do it all with just one click. Anyone able to help with that? TIA!

Not a regular Firefox user, but see if this fits the bill .....

Reduce the size of the Firefox window so that the underlying desktop may be seen.

Drag the bookmark to the desktop. Double click on it to open the URL.

I am a regular Firefox user, and I tested it. There is a small icon to the left of the URL (emoticon?). Drag and drop that. For instance I opened this page: http://news.bbc.co.uk/
I did as I said above, and I got an icon on the Desktop labelled: BBC News news front page. The icon was the same as that of of the default browser

Thanks for your replies. Close to what I wanted but not quite, and probably because I didn't explain fully. The shortcut deals with an Adobe Connect meeting. I have some javascript in the properties of the bookmark so when I click the bookmark, the meeting opens without me having to log in or other misc actions. The icon action desired, then, would be to make the bookmark do just that. I can drag the meeting bookmark icon off to the desktop, but that is merely a link to join the meeting from the outside, as a guest - it doesn't run the javascript. TIA - again.

Hm...Could you possibly create a program (or something), that when you click on it, automatically opens up the bookmark and fills in your info? I'm not sure if this would work, but in theory it should.
