External drives show as unformatted after installing second SATA drive

Hi i recently installed a 2nd Sata Drive and formatted it, upon reboot my two external Western digital drives have both gone off, these have so much critical data on i cannot lose the 500gb external does have an icon but when clicked says drive is not formatted do you want to format now! the 1TB external does not even show up an icon but is recognised in the computer managment prog but again needs to be formatted can any one help i'm really in distress here.

You may have a corrupted partition table, try TestDisk click here

I forgot to mention to you, to make sure you read the instructions before running it and make sure you download the correct version. You obviously did.
