I don't want, for example, installers or uninstallers to be able to start up firefox and take me to the company's website.

But I do want Google Earth to have access.

Can I set up a whitelist?

Interesting thought. But I don't think its possible right now unless someone comes along with an extension to read your whitelist and allow only those sites.

Can the firewall help me do this? I have the beta of the 64-bit ZoneAlarm and I noticed that if I right-click and "Send Link," ZA warns me that Firefox is trying to launch WinMail.exe.

If ZA can stop Firefox from launching separate apps, can't it be made to work in the opposite direction?
