Hi guys, I'm new here. and I have a problem with my right click menu from my Start Button.

When I right click on my Start button it doesn't show the OPEN, EXPLORE, or even SEARCH from the context menu, what I have from the list are Properties, Open All User and Explore All User only.

Is there a registry string for this for me to put it back from the original setting? or can I do this to GPEDIT.MSC?

By the way I'm using Windows XP Pro sp 2

Thanks in advance and more power to the forum!

Hi cyrusjin. Welcome to Windowsbbs! :)

I couldn't find an immediate solution to your problem. :( But in the meantime click Start< Run and type sfc /scannow and press enter. Have your Windows XP CD available in case SFC needs a file. After SFC runs reboot the computer and let me know if the right click context menu in the start button was restored or not. Thanks!

A first line approach I use on problems like this is Dial-A-Fix.

It can re-register many dll's and also detect and remove any policy restrictions present. It's a very useful tool for many other things as well.
