Hey guys, I just bought a Sony laptop

    Model Number: VGN-AW290
    Sony VAIO
    Intel® Coreâ„¢ 2 Duo Processor T9800 (2.93GHz)
    Microsoft® Windows Vista® Home Premium 64-bit
    8 GB DDR2-SDRAM (DDR2-800, 4GBx2)
400 GB SATA Hard Disk Drive [5400 rpm]
WLAN (802.11a/b/g/n) with integrated Bluetooth® technology

I have a cable modem and a wireless router from Linksys Wireless-G Linux Broadband Router
(WRT54GL). I am wondering if my problem is related to the cable modem, wireless router or something on my laptop. The reason why I am thinking it is something on my laptop is that my girlfriend has a laptop that is wireless also and she is able to stay connected to the net and mine drops. Now sometimes both of the connections from my laptop and hers both drop. Lately though, mine is the only one dropping.

Here are some things that I have on my laptop: Norton System Works 12.0, Spybot Seek and Destroy, Windows Defender turned off, UAC turned off.

I am just trying to see if others have had any problems and what might be the problem?

    Any idea?

Thanks so much for any help!

Without delving further into your situation, I'd suggest you call Sony Tech Support. I am aware of a Vista update that caused some recent (within a year) Sony B,G,N wireless networking devices to stop working altogether. The fix was a Sony driver update but I have no more information than that.

    ;)
