A year ago, my monitor screen appear with concave shape, but this will change back to normal after start my computer for a period. Some day ago, my screen appear yellow but after i closed my monitor for a few minutes, it become normal. But now, it can't change back even i close it like before not use. And the buttons that on the monitor that for control the screen width, height, brightness,etc....even can't use. When i press that the buttons, the screen appear many horizontal strip that appear and appear again, but when i press the exit buttons, the strip disappear. But the buttons still function able,
just with weird display way(just only many horizontal strip). My monitor is SAMSUNG type and maybe this is it model name SyncMaster 753s. Does those symptoms have some links? This is freaking me out!!:(

I suspect the monitor (sounds like a CRT) has failed - connect it to another computer to check/confirm.

If the monitor is OK on another computer re-install/update the graphics drivers.

It may be cheaper to replace the monitor - I wonder if you would be able to find a technician who could effect the repair.

If i replace it with new monitor, is there any way to prevent this happens again? Will LCD and Plasma have this kind of problems too?

CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) monitors use a completely different technology to LCD/Plasma to generate the image.

The problem with your monitor suggests it may be quite old - LCD's have their own problems too, specifically dead pixels, although modern manufacturing methods are close to eliminating those too.

No monitor will last forever - they grow old as we do and do not perform as well as when they were new.

You will find it difficult to buy a new CRT as these have been superseded almost completely by LCD flat screens.
