Dekcell USB External DVD/CD RW Drive

I recently purchased this drive to use with my Acer Aspire One since I found that I needed to download some of my old programs.

The unit recognizes the disk that came with it--USB2.0 Drive and I can see and read some of the files.

The unit also recognizes audio cds.

The unit does not recognize any of my own cds such as cds with jpgs and cds with Word documents on them.

In Control Panel I checked to see if the hardware is installed and Windows says that it is and it is working properly.

Why can't I see the files that I copied to these cds?

Are the problem disks CDr's or CDRW's and are any DVD's affected?

The cds were burned on rewritable disks.

I was able to install Paint Shop Pro 9 by way of the Dekcell with no problem.

I have not been able to see the contents of a disk sent to me by a pond manufacturer.

Hi Carole,

Can you try a different brand CD-RW on the drive? The disk from the pond manufacturer may be unrelated and just faulty.

It would help whilst diagnosing this if you used the terms CD CDR CDRW DVD etc rather than disk, it saves some second guessing

 

Check at the Dekcell website for if there are any firmware udates for your model.
