having ip adress wifi probs with eeepc

    i recently instaled xp on my eee pc 4g i think every thing is in order apart from the fact i can not connect to my postoffice netgear home hub i did with the linux but not now keeps trying to renew the ip address and im at a miss with what is wrong any help would be appreciated thanx all ja n ang

    From a websearch, I can't see what sort of device that would be. It would help if you could post back with a model number.

    Can you post the output of the ipconfig /all command?

    Can you connect it via a wire? Does that work?

    Try changing the wireless channel on the router.

    Can you connect via cable? It would be worth checking this works first - then we can see if this is a wireless only problem - or that you have a more fundamental network config problem.

    Also, which model of EEEPC.

    Let me add some more: are you using the atheros utility to connect? If so, remove it & use Windows WiFi to manage the connection.

    hi i think i have enabled window to manage my wifi i do have the theros utility nstalled would i need to completely remove thanx for your help . angie n jay
