Just got this used laptop, toshiba portege 2000 with no HHD. So I purchased the HHD for the laptop but seeing it does not have a CDROM drive nor a DVD drive, no floppy drive, how does one go about loading windows to this new HHD on this computer? Any help will greatly appreciated.
    Thanks:(

I assume by HDD you mean a solid state drive?

I suggest you check out the manual - the usual option on a netbook is to use an external USB CD/DVD drive and set the BIOS to boot from it. I have an Asus Eee PC and that is the way it is done on that, but not as straightforward as you might think. Hence my suggestion to read the manual - probably the Recovery section.

Thanks for the reply PeteC, but I did not get the manual with this computer. Will I be able to get it on line? Got the computer at a show, thinking it was easy to load windows to a new HHD.
Good thing I did not pay much for it. Turning out to be more than I bargained for.
