So I thought adding a second email to outlook 2003 would be simple. (Apparently, not so simple)

    • Clicking on TOOLS I choose "add new email accountâ€
    • And selected POP3
    • Then added my name and the new address
    • I made the incoming and outgoing server the same as the primary email
    • Used the same username and password
    • Then went to more settings and matched the port settings (110 and 587)
    • I then clicked test settings and I got all green check marks (I think green is good)
But alas no test message was received. Nor were subsequent messages.
I hope I have supplied all the relevant information that might encourage a reply.

And thank you in advance for any help.:)

Is your new mail account a different name with the same domain - (in other words previous account is 123@myisp.com and new account is 321@myisp.com) or is it a differnet name and a different domain (eg 321@differentisp.com) ?

    ;)

I didn't ask what you did, I asked if the actual account domains were the same or different. Please list the domains (the part following name@)

    Thanks

Thanks for the response. I hope this is what you need to answer your question.

Both the primary and the second address end with "comcast.net "

    And thank you

Apologies if I'm missing something here but did you call Comcast and set up the second account with them first?

I did not call comcast to set it up. I did however call them check the process and they made sure I had the correct login and password for outlook and the comcast site. (No mention of set up)

So it sounds like I need them to set it up as well? Assuming we are all realizing this is the "cure" I'll do it tomorrow. Let know if there something else and thanks "Rockster2u and Miz "!!!!!:)

    John,

Don't beat yourself up over this - the oversight is quite understandable. I'm not that familiar with Comcast as there is a different cable provider in our geographic area, however, most service providers permit the use of additional mail accounts and quite one can set up secondary accounts by going to the ISP's web page and logging on to their account (My Account). Then it's something like (Manage My Account) which will permit the addition of secondary mail accounts.

Perhaps another Comcast User will be able to provide more specifics and I would think they have a Help section or FAQ section that will also give you detailed guidance.

    ;)
