    Hi

I have a new XP 64 pc on the domain network. It's the only XP 64 but I do have 2 other Vista 64 pc with no problems.

The XP 64 pc was joined to the domain with a fair amount of work and it eventually turned out that you have to join first and then install the ISA Server Client.

    1. I have a logon bat script that maps a series of network shares during startup except that it won't run on the XP 64 system. When run manually it request user/pass but it won't accept the currently logged in user but will run with another user/pass combination. All other systems do the script fine.
If I logon as admin it won't allow me to the shares that only admin have rights to.

    2. I can browse the internet with Firefox, but not IE. Same proxy settings.

    3. We run a network license for our CAD software but it won't connect to the license server IP address, but I can ping it. I get a Winsock error when pointing it to the IP address. Added IP to the hosts file with no effect.

M/Board is Asus P5N-D with some nvidia network stuff. I installed a SMC Nic as well resulting in same errors.

    Any clues?

Is the user account that of a domain user. That is, is the user account defined on the server (as it should be) rather than just the PC?

    Hi Reggie,

The accounts are all fine as this user has been on the network for years.

I've actually found the problem and it had nothing to do with XP64, the OS or the domain network. The problem was that the Asus P5N-D board comes with nVidia Network Access Manager software and the supplier installed this as default. It has effect even if you use a secondary NIC and not the On-board one. I eventually uninstalled the software and all is perfect.

The solution came up with the install of XP32 on the same model motherboard on another new pc. I'll reinstall the ISA Firewall Client and see if it runs ok.

Thank you for posting back the solution. Not an easy one to spot!
