New MS Update

    There is a huge update file that I noticed today >250MB. Anybody know what that is all about?

    250 MB could be XP SP 3.

    Plus, there are 3 more updates available for this update & they have to be installed in order. :confused:

    That is the only update I was offered (XP Pro SP3) - installed successfully - what do the other updates refer to?

    No, it is not critical .....

    Here's the relevant info from WinXP download link:

    Additional Information
    Please see the Knowledge Base Article KB959209 for more information.

    Please download and install all 3 updates available in the section titled Files in This Download. These updates should be installed in the following sequence:

    1. Install the update for the .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 - NDP20SP2-KB958481-x86.exe
    2. Install the update for the .NET Framework 3.0 Service Pack 2 - NDP30SP2-KB958483-x86.exe
    3. Install the update for the .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 - NDP35SP1-KB958484-x86.exe



    Note: The updates below may not be listed in the install sequence indicated above, so please ensure you download and install these updates in the above sequence.

    Looking in Add/Remove Programs it would seem that the download referenced in post #3 contained all those updates - see screenshots and note installation date - 28 Jan ....
