I have switched laptops with my husband who doesn't believe in updates and doesn't use graphics. I have finally finished transferring my files and am finding his computer lacking in many ways. I use lots of graphics and I am getting a message, I need the latest DirectX, which I have already done, and the latest graphic card driver. I went to device manager and checked all my vidio cards for updates. The only update I needed was video controller and I tried to update that, I got graphics all over my screen and could not remove them, had to turn off the computer. When I turned the computer back on, my display settings were all off and I was unable to correct the settings.I restored my system. What can I do now?

Whats the make & model no. of your laptop ?

Go to the manufacturers web site & update your drivers from there.
