    Dear Sir,

    My system as follows,
    WinXP PRO
    MS Office 2003

I wanna know which format i select for number while working in excel
so that while draging all required number arrange in acsending order as
when we count, ie number does not get copied, but the order should be
as is the case with date format.

For more explaination, for example i want to insert number from 1 to
100 in cells. Now what i want is, insert 1 in a cell and drag it to 100th cell
so that no adding of number indivisually.

    Regards,

    Gulam Dastgir

 Why drag, I'm not sure that you can, when you can use Edit > Fill > Series?

Enter 1 in the first cell - highlight cells 1 - 100 - Edit > Fill > Series and select Step Value 1

    Dear PeteC,

How to make a cell uneditable. The contents should also be not visible in the
formula bar ie no one can edit the formula, i am defining in it, also no one can
    see it.

    Kind Regards,

    Gulam Dastgir

This should work for you ....

To hide the formula in a cell .....

Select the cells you want to hide, then right click and select Format Cells. Choose the Protection Tab and check the box for Hidden.

You must also Protect the Worksheet - use a password otherwise the protection can be removed by anybody .....

Tools > Protection > Protect sheet or Workbook

    Dear PeteC,
I do not want to make the whole sheet uneditable, only those cells where i
have defined the formula so that no can edit the formula, but can enter the
figures in the cells to whom the formula is defined.

    Kind Regards,

    Gulam Dastgir
