Only if you are getting your signal from an off-the-air antenna.

If you get your input signal from cable or satellite, you can continue to use the older analog tuner card.

Hi I bought an Aver Media card ( $100.00 )for my laptop and now I can get Digital TV and even HD TV as well. it even has a remote control , Plus Time shift, multiscreen etc, does all a Top box will do.
It has a Media Centre program built in as well much like the Windows Media Centre ( you can view you photo 's and play your music as well) that comes with your PC.It works Ok with the small provided antenna but is better connected to the outside one,on the small stick the HD pixulates a bit ,
Great gadget , Cheers Des .:D

Technically, you should still be able to get the stations. The problem is that some cable companies have been moving those stations to the digital tier. I don't know how long it will last, as the FCC just started handing out fines to the 9 companies that were trying to pull this stunt.
