    Hi Rick Winter
You could always try one of your restore points? Though, I've never had much luck once Norton's decided to throw a fit. I usually had to resort to re-installing.

Just curious! Did you verify restore points just prior to the uninstallation process? The restore calendar will show dates in bold characters for any backup. If there is no backup, the dates will not be bold. The date of the automatic update should be in bold on the R/S calendar and clicking on that date there should be a message with the name and time of the update.

Did you then do the Norton uninstall? After doing the uninstall where the restore points still distinquished by bold characters?

    Daizy,

I believe the link to "Start SR from the command prompt" addresses the problem of a non-functioning or corrupt SR program and the procedure to restore that function. This problem would be the inability to open System Restore.

I don't believe the procedure is applicable if restore points are lost. The problem is not clearly defined by the poster (...won't let me go back and restore). The RS program may be OK, but restore points were never established or may have been lost. I have lost restore points, and I continue to search for an explanation!

All I was left to go on was the same info you read. I assumed what the poster said to be literal. Whether due to having not enough room set for the restore points, or turning the feature off, corruption, what have you.
Perhaps they will post back and enlighten us further.

Thanks all for your help in trying to solve my Norton problem!!! After uninstalling and loading norton a couple of time without success thinking all of nortons files were uninstalled. I once again uninstalled norton only this time i did a search in files and folders and found 3 files pertaining to norton (norton rescue etc.) so i deleted these 3 files and reloaded norton again and for some dang reason it worked. Thanks again Rick:rolleyes:
