Hi all I have a problem with maleware and keyloggers affecting my computer and wondered if there was a software out there that would remove them and also stop them from attaching themselves to my computer? I play games and think if came in that route. I dont care if I have to pay for the software either. I have also read your posts about the best antivirus software and wondered what you think of Kaspersky® Internet Security compared to Avira. Also, what software programs should I have on my computer in order to protect it from invasion and hackers. Thanks J

Hi dewrose. On my computer I use Windows Defender, Mcafee Siteadvisor, Spyware Blaster, and Spybot Search and Destroy to keep my computer clean and free of infections. The programs are all free and are some of the most highly rated security applications to use on computers. You can take your pick and download whatever programs you would like to try from here, http://filehippo.com/software/antispyware/ and here, http://filehippo.com/software/antivirus/. :)

Good Morning dewrose and Welcome to the BBS. In direct response to your question, I believe Kaspersky Internet Security is without question the superior product. However, they are both excellent products.

On balence, it is adviseable to have a good Anti-Virus Program, a Firewall and one or more Anti-Malware programs, however, even these defenses are not foolproof. I would suggest you head over to the Malware removal forum on the BBS and read Geri's post (it's a Sticky near the top) relative to keeping your computer safe. If you suspect that you are currently infected or have recently been infected then I'd suggest you go a step further and start a thread as instructed in the Sticky at the very top of that same page.

Today's Malware writers are very good at their craft and very good at work-arounds to avoid detection by most commercially available Applications. Cleaning some infections requires very specialized knowledge and advanced but not readily available tools. This is where guidance from a trained Malware Removal Specialist is required. Fortunately, the BBS has some of the absolute best and the forum leader, noahdfear, is widely recognized as one of the best in the world. If you are worried about your machine, start a thread and become a believer.

    ;)
