    Latly I created a new user on computer with admin priviliges, when looged in I go to my computer to open some files like power point or excel, I notice that those files have instead of the usual excel icons for example some white icon, same for other type of files like power point etc'.

    Could try the Rebuild Icons function under Repair in Tweak UI.

    Tools > Folder Options > View and uncheck 'Hide extensions for known file types' will fix that aspect.

    Have you run Tweak UI?

    Be carefull with the following:

    Win Explorer->Tools->Folder Options->File Type tab

    You can edit DOC files for example and click the Change Icon button.

    I remembered a tweak I always use ....

    Windows remembers a set number of icons - this can be increased by a simple reg file ....

    http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/bags8000.reg

    This adds to the Tools > Folder Options > View - at the bottom - options for the icon cache size. I have mine set at max.
