    Hi,

Im just wondering if this is normal or an issue.

I have 2 internal Sata HDD.

When I attempt to transfer multiple large files from disk 1 to disk 2, the time it says it will take, and actually takes is huge.

For example, transferring a 300MB file from disk 1 to disk 2, would be relatively quick, but if I did 2 at once, it would move extremely slllloooow.

    Is this normal or???

Should I be using some tool to check if my HDD are failing?

    XP Home SP2
    250GB Disk 1
    750GB Disk 2
Lots of space available on either
    2GB RAM

    Thank you

Do you select the two (or more) at the same time and try to copy/cut them or do you start the process on one, then try to start another at the same?

Check for any updates for your chipset drivers at the motherboard/system's manufacturer's website. Also look for any separate updates for the SATA Controller drivers or even the IDE Controller drivers.

Is one HDD very full? Do Error Checking (CHKDSK) on each of the drives (partitions). Run a defragmentation.

Disconnect from the internet and disable the antivirus.

    Matt
