Hi all I hope you can help.
I am having problems with my home network which was working until I used some XP tuning software on my PC, Administerative shares which I reversed. I cannot even see my or any workgroup at the moment, which I can change.
I am getting the error message "HOME is not accessable, you might not have permission .............. Windows cannot find the network path contact network administrator ". Am logged in as administrator. I think the problem is permissions to see the network the tuning software must have edited the permissions for the administrator.... I dont want to reinstall XP.

    Please please help:(:(:(

    Kind rgds

    George..

    Well we don't know:
    1. what "tuning" software you used,
    2. what you did using that software.

Not knowing what was done I cannot advise beyond to run the software and try to find some setting that "undoes" changes made or restores Windows defaults.

Windows System Restore may or may not be able to fix things, but it's worth a try to use System Restore to load a restore point PRIOR to when you installed that tuning software.

i did a network questionair the software "tuned" the pc by disabled admin shares among other things I cannot remember what else. i tried to reverse no good
i will find out the name of the software
Surely I can reverse admin permissions when loggeed in as a admin.
i cant even see the pc's workgroup.
