I have an ASUS DRW-1814BL DVD RW drive.

When I upgraded to Vista, my drive was working just fine. All of a sudden yesterday after a 4 part windows update (all security fixes, no driver updates), Windows is now having troubles loading the driver and won't let me use the drive period.

I tried going to ASUS and downloaded the latest (and any) drivers they had, and everytime it came up saying that no Device was found even though I verified the device's item number on the drive itself.

    • - I tried uninstalling the drive then running ASUS' driver package with the same no device error found.
    • - I've uninstalled the device, rebooted, and tried to reinstall, same failed to initialize error.
    • - I tried updating the driver through windows; it simply says it's up to date and won't change anything.
    • - I tried System Restoring to the earliest point I had (which was only 1 day previous) and the same issue resulted.

So how in the world can I repair or find this driver to delete it and try to reinstall it?
