Here are a few of my several suggestions and ideas as far as this site and a possable way to help your users even more and i will help with it if neccessary or needed.

1 take and have a section for downloads.
    A) this section may have legit downloads of combofix, panda active scan, avg links, tcpview,SUPERAntiSpyware, rsit, malwarebytes, spyware search and destroy.
    B) If possible have a links or downloads section with pages or downloads of Free mp3's the reason fo this is that most people get infected with viruses and adware by trying to get free mp3's, free software and free movies.

2 while this site is great the way it is the side bar is kind of confusing to novice users have a selectable level button based on the users preferance.
for example Im an advanced user myself and i understand the site my mother is a novice , border apprenticed user she doesnt understand it with the button she can click it and the page loads in a simple view format for her instead of all of the diff operating systems and ect . the new page would allow her to see where her post should be and aleart her or use redirecting help to post it in the correct place. just as an example.
If you are interested then please email me for more details here

Not speaking for staff by any means and I'm sure they appreciate all suggestions but...

As far as I know any poster requiring such software is provided with valid/legitimate links, what use would a mirror of this software provide other than additional work for staff?

Most members will happily educate other members on the subject of safe surfing. Where would you suggest we stop with these free downloads, where would liability lie if malware snuck in? This is a board which provides assistance for problems with hardware/software not a board to assist with freeware/mp3 downloads etc. I believe google can be useful for that kind of thing.

The differing OS/Sections are for a purpose, although the staff do an excellent job here I don't think it's very practical for them to monitor every single post as and when it comes in. However, new posters have greater moderation to a certain extent and any post which is found to be in the wrong board is quickly switched... How would you improve this situation?

    ok lol
you got me on all but one thing wildfire
the mp3s yes this is a hardware software board however as we all know from experiance googling is full of junk bad link and viruses so placing well moniterd links to those i mentioned would actually give you all ( the helpers and the staff) a little more help in the sense that it would cut down on the number of people needing help and also the number of infected computers and so on. am I wrong in my views if i am let me know and i will glady appologize and retract the idea .

As I said safe surfing advice is given freely on this board.

So who would monitor these well monitored links, and how many people would benefit from this...

How many hits on google for "free MP3 ", right now on google.co.uk is over 78 million... How many should we monitor? Which should we monitor? How many volunteers should spend their time monitoring this?

Most people come to this site after they have problems, hopefully they stay around but if they don't then they should at least have left learning something they can pass on to others.

rayfalcon, you've suggested you work professionaly in the IT industry, think about what you're asking from volunteers who want to assist but their time is just as important as your and mine.

Sorry, but we'll never going to offer MP3's. That has nothing to do with the focus of this board, and only cost $$$ in hosting & bandwidth fees. Not even talking about liability issues & quality control.

Do you have any objections to me linking to your site on one of my webpages like myspace ? it would not be a major link just a banner with a brief description of your service you now offer that they can click to go to your site.
