XP service pack 3

    I have had various feedbacks on the desirability of installing SP3. Is there a bottom line answer?

    Depends on your point of view or experience with SP3.

    Bottom line is that it is not critical to install it - it is essentially a rollup of all the patches issued since SP2 and the few new features are buried deep and not of use to non corporate users.

    Keep SP2 patched up to date and your securiy will not be compromised.

    At some time in the future no doubt SP3 will be required to access Windows Update as SP2 is now.
