Updating Flash, Java and so forth...?

Secunia advises that my Flash and Java are in need to updating. I appear to have two Flash programs: 9.0.47.0 and 9.0.115.0. The question is... should I have uninstalled the first flash program before updating to the newest? And what about Java? Do you uninstall "before" installing the latest program? Do you wait until you've installed the latest and then uninstall the older OR do you simply undate and forget about uninstalling? Java and Flash have always confused me on this updating procedure. :? :? :?

 

Both Java & Flash could be upgraded in situ. There is no specific need to uninstall the older version first except that in case of Java the older version files are still there & for Flash Install/Uninstall entries are there.

For Java, I have been using JavaRa [http://www.majorgeeks.com/download5967.html] for cleaning up.

 

Hi James...I always install the new version first, make sure all is well (usually a week) in computerland, then uninstall the old version.
