Im Chris and I want to ask why Windows is not detecting Malwarebytes Anti Malware in the Security? I had activated it by purchasing US$25 or so. Is it really a replacement for the anti virus?

I have AVG free and a soon-to-be-expired Norton 360 (another PC)

    Thank you for your time

MBAM is not a substitute for anti virus. Its malware scanner & not a virus scanner.

Ideally, you need to run both an anti malware & anti virus for protection.

so what's the protection for in MBAM? Did I just wasted US$25 for activating a malware scanner that's free in the first place?

Thanks for the clarifications. I'll add AVG to replace the expired Norton360

So I did activated it, gave me a real time protection and still windows is not putting it in the security center. that's my problem.

So, do i need AVG or such to go with an activated MBAM? I just wish Windows Vista looks MBAM as an anti virus so I dont have to worry about my aunt's Norton 360 and my new laptop's free trial soon-to-be expired norton 360.

Thank you again for your time

Windows Security Centre only recognises Antivirus apps, not antimalware/antispyware apps.
Yes - as rsinfo pointed out above, MBAM is not antivirus software.
